Alcohol and Christmas

Ah well here we go again Party Party Party. If you are lucky enough?

christmas drinkingUnfortunately along with all the fun come the consequences. Now I’m not going to waste yours and my time telling you not to drink at Christmas. And why should I? Christmas is a great time to go out, unwind and have loads of fun with friends and family.

However what I would like to do is offer you some advice and options to help you get over the season so we are not wheel barrowing you into the gym in January

Firstly try make sure you are well hydrated (that’s water) and fed before going on the lash. We all know the results of going straight from work to the pub tired, hungry and thirsty. I have done many circuits on the Circle line Tube whilst living in London following a Friday after work pint.

Unfortunately beer is one of our worst enemies as well all the calories it has Estrogen type chemicals that shovel fat onto your chest (man boobs) and belly. Lighter beers and cider are better but still pack on pounds as does wine. Also be aware of sugary cocktails.

The better choices would be Vodka and  Gin with slimline. Try and dilute as much as possible. Another and least expensive is Whiskey on the rocks with lots of water. You are probably less likely to drink too much also.

A great tip before you get too boozy is frequent glasses of water between drinks and a large glass before you hit the sack.

On wakening another large glass of water with a lemon and lime squeezed in. Leave the squished lemon and lime in there and keeping topping up through the day.

You might not want to but a good run, walk or workout works wonders physically and mentally next morning.

So have a great happy and healthy Christmas.

Good Christmas food tips to follow.
