Avoid Festive Ballooning

santaAs promised I’m back with your Festive food survival plan.

As with alcohol there is no point is telling you not to eat crap over Christmas as it will be lining the pavements waiting for you.

The average adult will eat and drink over 3,000 calories on Christmas day alone. In order to burn this off you would have to run a full marathon (26.2 Miles) So how many marathons will you have to run.

It’s worth reminding you what the nasty’s are?

Spuds, carrots, turnip, parsnips, rice, pasta, pies, cake, puddings, sauces, bread, pastries, processed food and alcohol.

I know all the nice things! But if you can minimise these, you’re winning.

PREPARATION is key. Where possible don’t buy or allow crap into your environment. Make sure there is plenty of what you need available to hand

With main meals have plenty of meat and veg except those listed earlier.

Have a soup for starters (not creamy) and leave a good gap before your main course. Give your brain time to signal to the belly how full you are. Chew your food slowly and put down your knife and fork between bites. Again wait a while before desert. If you do you probably won’t have one.

Be aware of picking and finishing off other peoples meals.

Have a good breakfast as this will keep the blood sugars up and depress snacking.

Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and help organs flush out toxins.

Eat before heading out to avoid picking.

If you are going to a party bring your own food if feasible.

Try get in as much exercise as possible before and or after meals.

Hope this helps.
