Sheppard’s Pie

Hi Folks,

Here’s a ideal healthy recipe for the great family favourite “Sheppard’s Pie”

MAKES 4 SERVINGS

pieIngredients:

  • 3 Large Sweet Potatoes, peeled and cut into chunked
  • 1 ½ lb. Extra-Lean Ground Beef
  • 1 Cup Frozen Peas
  • 1 tbsp. Olive Oil
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 1 Cup Mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 Clove Garlic
  • 2 tsp. Dried Rubbed Sage
  • 2 tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • Salt and Pepper, to taste
  • 1 tsp. Paprika

 

Method:

  1. Peel & cut spuds into chunks.
  2. Boil until tender. Drain and mash. Add paprika.
  3. Preheat oven.
  4. Heat oil in pan, add onions, mushrooms & beef. Cook until beef is brown and onions are soft.
  5. Add Worc sauce, garlic sage & peas. Season with salt and pepper and cook for another 5 minutes.
  6. Pour meat mix into casserole dish and top with spuds. Place in middle of oven.
  7. Cook until spuds are golden brown at edges.
  8. Remove and serve.
